MY STORY
When I started training to become a goldsmith in 2022, I already knew that I wanted to become a stone setter.
But the knowledge about how jewellery is made and built was an important basic knowledge for me before I started setting stones.
So in 2022 I also started the evening course "Gemstone Setter" at Syntra-PXL, in Hasselt.
But in the second year, I decided to take my technical skills to a higher and more professional level.
As a result, I participated in the entrance tests for Alexandre Optical Diamond Setting School in Antwerp and took online courses with Ian Barnard from Setting the standard, UK.
In April 2024 I started the full-time day course with Alexander Sidorov.
Alexander Sidorov is internationally known for his outstanding skills as a stone setter.
Getting in and graduating from his school was by far one of my main goals, professionally but also on a personal level.
I graduated at Alexandre Optical Diamond Setting School in June 2024.
